Nov 5, 2024The most precious thing is that the IQ of all characters in the whole process is online! This has rarely been seen in movies in recent years. The selection and performance of the actors is also very good. The dialogue is also reasonable and in line with the identity and character of the character. The touch-up parts such as the lens and the soundtrack are not good enough. The entire script also lacks a grand material or spiritual foundation. Overall it can only be considered a good stage drama level movie.

Nov 5, 2024In 1926 Agatha Christie disappeared in real life for eleven days. She appeared in a north Yorkshire hotel with no knowledge of what happened to her. She was under pressure at the time as her marriage was falling apart. This television film speculates that Christie pretended to be a lawyer called Mary Westmacott who assembled some suspects for the death of Florence Nightingale Shore six years earlier. She was a nurse like her famous grandmother and found bludgeoned in a train compartment. Christie is persuaded by Florence's lover, Mabel Rogers also a nurse to investigate the death. The film is really Agatha Christie, crime investigator as she goes about questioning the suspects. When a suspect dies Inspector Dicks appears on the scene. He has a very direct and frank approach which Christie finds initially off putting. It is an enjoyable mystery, rather low budget and nothing to do with any realistic cause of Christie's disappearance which has been explored in other movies. There are even some discussions about Agatha Christie's writings such as the obvious suspect but I felt it should had been done in a more playful manner.

Nov 5, 2024First things first, this is my first review on IMDB and I signed up just to write it! To get it out of the way I am a MASSIVE Agatha Christie fan. I can't say what this film would be like to someone who doesn't know or hasn't read AC. But for me, I WAS SO IMPRESSED!!! Whoever made this has done two great things, they've made a film which is a really fun whodunnit BUT ALSO packed it full of detail for people who love Agatha Christie! I'm not going to give it all away here but it's a treasure trove. Go hunting! Performances are great and it's funny! People always forget that Agatha Christie is funny. If I had to criticise I'd say it's simpler than your average Christie but then I suppose there's only so much you can fit into an hour and a half. One things for sure, I'd rather this a million times over the latest adaptation of ABC. And that was authorized by the AC estate. What are they thinking?! The Truth Of Murder is much closer in spirit and sooooooooo much better period! Also. I love Ruth Bradley. What a great Agatha Christie. Please Netflix, can we have some more?!!!

Nov 5, 2024A simply wonderful crime film that deserves watching and recommending to everyone. This should be watched as a Double Bill with the recent Murder On The Orient Express. The characters are never just one note as the writers and actors flesh out each part with real sparks of life. Agatha has some wonderful little put downs for the condescending men that she meet throughout the film, very much like Kenneth Branagh's film the dialogue is of the period and not modernised. The direction does look at the period with a modern eye, too how women where and are still treated by men and even other women. By the way i'm a man, make of that what you will. This film was a hoot to watch and a pleasure to recommend.
