Feb 10, 2024if you want to spend a good time forget the Hollywood blockbusters based only on special effects. the script is good and the actors perfectly tuned. Not a masterpiece but a small jewel. highly recommend to spend a good evening on a positive note

Feb 10, 2024Well, that is an hour and a half of totally wasted time. There is no point to this movie, no apparent plot, and certainly no script... just a very very long hour and a half of random scenes - and far far too many extreme close ups of Bel Powley. The woman cannot act. Her emotions range from whiney to petulant to out right annoying. No romance. No character development. No empathy for any of the characters. Just annoying whiney scenes

Feb 10, 2024This movie was good to me because I cared what happened to the main character, Carrie. And, this is usually a sign that a film was well written and acted. However...the young male actors in this film, and a plethora of other ones, these days, continue to believe that they do not have to make themselves clear. That is, they are sloppy about pronunciation and enunciation. English (and in this one, Irish) actors and stage players seem to understand the concept of speaking slowly and clearly so that the audience does not have to guess at the dialogue. Where is the training of actors in this regard? Do young people think it is "in" or cool to speak as though they had a mouth full of rocks? Respectfully,

Feb 10, 2024A socially awkward, highly intelligent teen, is trying to find some happiness in the world. All the bad reviews seem to yearn for a caricature, so absolutely awkward and intelligent they can barely function in the real world. Unfortunately for them this is far more realististic. Just a person not quite in sync with the real world trying to find their rhythm. This a sweet, feel good movie. It has real heart, you know that because your automatically connect with the main character. It's lovely from start to finish.
