Nov 22, 2022The story is a light on the light side. It felt like the rival story of the ex girlfriend was purely filler because there wasn't a whole lot else going on other than Jennifer Lowndes. To give my statements context, Lowndes used to be one of my least favorite of the Hallmark-like stars. Lowndes plays an appealing single woman winning her way into the family of a widower father and his daughter. There's fond history between the families but it doesn't seem like Hannah and Gavin ever dated. Lowndes and Christopher Russel have a quiet chemistry. The three-way relationship is part of the appeal of the movie. The other appealing note of this movie is Lowndes' songs. I always enjoy her performances in movies like this.

Nov 22, 2022Well, this movie was very disappointing. These two leads have played opposite each other before and done well. This time it was mediocre at best. For a movie about kites, there was very little kite flying, and the competition at the end was completely unbelievable. They were all standing on top of each other flying the kites - the kites would have been a tangled mess if they were actually that close together. The "family" all won their respective competitions - why have a competition at all? The two leads were very wooden throughout and the obligatory singing by Jessica Lowndes was unnecessary as usual. Very disappointing. Felt rushed and slapped together. As with many of the Hallmark movies of late - was barely worth the one-time watch....
