Aug 7, 2024The plot is quite predictable and it also has a lot of holes in it. But somehow it is very pleasurable to watch, if nothing else for the scenery and McManus' blue eyes. If you have a passion for sappy B-Movies, this one's for you. In the feel-good genre, this movie is a nice one. I would have gone without the good guys versus bad guys subplot, which was not very enticing and poorly written, but most of all distracted from the main plot of family feuds, human love, and romance. Ed Asner's role is too stereotypical, and he wasn't given time and room to explore it, which is a terrible waste. He could have done so much more for the movie, but it was reduced to old clichés.

Aug 7, 2024Really good acting. Even though there are no famous actors in the film, the actors are coming across very real. The old grandfather is smashing it even! Amazing scenes. You really would like to live in a place like this. High quality camera. You can see the small details on the long distance shots. Good music. It goes with the story really well and it would be good to listen to it just in itself. Strong story and message. There is a love story but the characters didn't just came out of the wallpaper. They have their past that shaped their personalities. There is action and a moral lesson to learn. Just perfect! :)
