In 1993, Doo-Seok is employed as a debt collector in Incheon, South Korea. Despite his fearsome appearance, he is very kind. He visits Myung-Ja one day in order to collect debt. Seung-Yi, Myung-Ja's little daughter, is unexpectedly given as collateral. Doo-Seok surprisingly takes on the role of Seung-Yi's guardian.
