An all-American story that explores the family dynamic when a prodigal daughter returns home. Cassie Roberts, an ex-rodeo queen turned single mom, has been running from her past and a long trail of bad decisions until she gets an urgent call to return home for her ailing father, Marvin. Cassie plans to stay only long enough to help her father get back on his feet. But when she sees Splash, her father's prize-winning quarter horse, her plans change. Cassie wants to see Splash compete in the International Equestrian Games and she wants the best trainer in east Texas to make it happen. Then she meets Chase Eversoll, a handsome "cowboy" horse trainer. As their work turns personal, Chase challenges Cassie to let go of her past and reminds her that reconciliation begins with forgiveness. "Texas Rein" celebrates the gift of family and the hope of second chances.

Nov 22, 2022Well, I was quite a bit confused when I started to rate it. The story is good. Horses are beautiful. Scenery is captivating. Wardrobe is awesome (Specially Texas Hats). BUT ACTING..... It was really really bad. No character could do what was expected out of them.

Nov 22, 2022This could have been a good movie, but the cast is not well directed. While listening to the actor's replies, you could swear that they have a teleprompter right in front of them. They look as they are reading a text for the first time

Nov 22, 2022Texas Rein is a family oriented Christian film about a young single mom who comes home to Texas to tend to her ailing father Don Hartman. In tow of course is her young son. She ran away with someone who left when she broke the news of her pregnancy to him and he's not been in the picture for years. Beth Gouthro is the daughter and she gets kind of trapped into riding dad's prize quarter horse in the national Show Horse qualifying rounds. It was her passion before passion took her over. Of course having hunky trainer cowboy Greg Perrow around as a romantic interest doesn't hurt either. The acting isn't quite up to snuff, but I've seen worse from the Christian circuit. The film should be suitable for church audiences.
