Apr 17, 2024This would've been a B level movie if it hadn't been misrepresented as a Davy Crockett movie. It's fully inaccurate and has a nonsense storyline that shows DC shoot his own horse instead of the wolf chasing it, save an Indian, get beat up repeatedly after his kids steal a dead beaver and then ultimately saved from further beatings by the Indian he earlier saved. As a DC historian & movie buff, I found it to be repulsive. Even my 10 year old daughter thought it was a disgusting treatment to a man who led such an interesting life that no fictionalization was required. It appeared to have been filmed in TN and had some pretty scenery but it doesn't overcome the disgusting & weak plot. Avoid this movie.
