Jul 23, 2024Amanda Jennings (Katharina Sporrer) skips out on her wedding in Dallas and takes a one-way rental to Houston. Upon returning her car in a wedding dress she discovers no one is at the 24-hour service desk. A little chloroform later she is in the trunk of a car with duct tape. At this point, the film is mainly Amanda in the trunk conversing with the kidnapper (Caspar Phillipson). She attempts to escape, people discover she is in the trunk, and eventually, she makes a call to her banker daddy (Hother Bøndorff+Christopher de Courcy-Ireland) and her would-be husband (Adam Kitchen). I am not sure why they keep making these boring one-person films with someone contained somewhere. Waste of film and time. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Jul 22, 2024* NON-SPOILER * The Girl In The Trunk (2024) is a disappointing thriller that fails to deliver on its intriguing premise. The plot is riddled with clichés and lacks coherence (I mean, just imagine leaving the person you've just kidnapped their mobile phone, with plenty of battery, to use anytime), while the characters are poorly developed. Despite a few moments of suspense, the overall execution feels amateurish. The pacing drags, making it a tedious watch. It's a missed opportunity that squanders its potential. The dialogue is stilted, and the supposed twists are predictable, leaving the audience disengaged. The cinematography, while occasionally striking, can't save this film from its fundamental flaws. A forgettable experience, not worth the time.

Jul 22, 2024All you can say is um kidnapped and all the relatives/contacts on the phone is ridiculous with what they come out with to the point of so fake, no none would say that and most of all annoying just like her instead of saying I'm kidnapped. It just goes on. It's not the worst movie out there but badly written and infuriating. Visually it's a very good set of a car boot, in fact it may have been a real car used! Times when she should talk she doesn't and when she should be quiet the character is mouthy. I'm still in shock after watching this and my blood pressure went sky high with the phone calls being so infuriating!!
