Oct 18, 2024I think this director studied under Joe Berlinger on how to make a bias, one sided documentary. Good grief. Little to no effort went into this and that's just a shame. Guilty, not guilty, doesn't matter, show both sides of the story. I'm glad the face to face documentary is out on Peacock so ppl can hopefully see the entire picture (to a degree of course). I learned after watching Berlinger's biased so called documentary, Paradise Lost - the West Memphis three case, that u cannot buy into any documentary presented these days. The degree of deception ppl will go to, to make for good tv, is disgusting. Nothing new is presented in this program, so imo, this so called documentary is absolutely pointless.

Oct 16, 2024American Murder: Laci Peterson" leans heavily toward one side, presenting Scott Peterson as the prime suspect. While gripping, it lacks a balanced perspective. No new evidence is presented and everything points to Sharon Rocha's self-absorption and need to tell the world that she knew Scott was a bad guy beforehand. Without the endless interviews of inconsequential people, this series could have been told in a less unpalatable way, in under an hour. Unfortunately, this one-sided style is becoming the rule more than the exception in American crime documentaries. The only positive and the reason for my three stars is the frightening picture we get of the power of the American press. We even see a journalist who proudly tells on the screen that she has created this uproar and excited atmosphere among the population. It is a country in decay, and interesting to observe from a distance.

Aug 31, 2024This is a very well-done show -- one of the better ones on Netflix. It's a shame the trial (last episode) wasn't televised, but that's not the doc series' fault. Scott Peterson is a psychopath, no question about it. Someone who kills their wife and unborn child and shows no remorse, contrition, nothing, is a psychopath. He's also an "actor," who can apparently cry when trying to explain himself when speaking with his girlfriend -- but he's not a good one. And of course, he's not as smart as he thinks he is. Glad he's in prison, but too bad the death penalty was overruled in his case. Besides how sad it was for Laci and Connor to be murdered, it's also sad that Scott Peterson's side of the family still maintains he's innocent to this day. Talk about denial and delusion!! His sister-in-law, Janey Peterson, actually went to law school and became a lawyer, all to fight his conviction. Not that Scott's family members would read these reviews, but if they do: Hey, Peterson family, you gotta wake up and stop living in delusion. Why can't you believe someone you've known his entire life is capable of heinous murders? You are the classic "family in denial" when something like this goes down with a family member. "Oh, he's too good, too nice, to have ever done something like that!" No. No he's not. Every single day, someone commits murder that others think or will say, "I can't believe it." Well, believe it, Peterson family, stop living in denial. And Mark Geragos was Scott Peterson's attorney. An attorney with a "famous" reputation, but the man is a piece of dung. Serves Scott Peterson right for hiring that man, too.

Aug 27, 2024Who produced this, the prosecutor's office? Can't believe there were three episodes and they didn't even tell any of the story. Its completely one sided and pointless. Don't know why it was even made. It's basically just a recap of the lazy nonsense narrative that the investigators pushed. They don't discuss the multiple witnesses that saw Laci in the park with her dog that morning. They ignore the fact that police just blindly accepted that the robbery across the street occurred on a night after the murder when news crews were all camped out front, which would have been impossible. And they don't bring up that the fetus aged past the date of Laci's disappearance, meaning she was clearly held captive and killed days later. Doesn't mention the witness that saw a women matching her description arguing with men in a van out front of the house that was robbed on the morning of her disappearance. The truth is she was taken by those two men, held and later killed and dumped in that lake once they saw on the news that Scott had been there that day. Scott Peterson is innocent and this garbage being on Netflix is a travesty and is simply further pushing a false narrative and miscarriage of justice.
