Aug 20, 2024I haven't seen the original film Gongjo/Confidential Assignment, but I did hear that it was a pretty average "turn your brain off and enjoy" action flick, so I went into this with zero expectations. I was actually hooked from beginning to end, as the action scenes were surprisingly satisfying, the music during said scenes got me pumped up, and the comic relief was very tastefully done. In a nutshell, I would describe it as a cross between "The Man From Nowhere" and "Extreme Job." As those are two of my favorite Korean flicks, I enjoyed this one very much and would recommend it to all action fans who also have an interest in Korean films.
