Jul 24, 2025So is the film at least a psychological thriller that explores this - on paper - intriguing split in the main character, Zaid? No. The film is a long series of scenes that don't really connect. Then there are a few scenes where the villain seems very composed and never becomes scary, people swear a lot and talk at each other's mouths, and then Zaid hangs out with his son a bit and is awkward. It's at least 20 minutes too long, and all scenes run longer than they can handle. And then the ending is incredibly unresolved. I would LOVE if this was something as rare as a Danish action film, and even a credible one, because I almost liked the etter.

Jul 24, 2025He's been in prison and now has a son Noah (Asgar Hansen) whom he doesn't really know, nor Noah him. Police agent Helle (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen) needs him to finally nail the kingpin of the Copenhagen underworld who has eluded her time and again - Muhdir (Soheil Bavi), a powerful drug lord. In exchange, she promises him a release from prison so he can have a life with his estranged 7-year-old son. Only the two of them know about the deal and as far as the police are concerned, he's a thug in a gang. He's been supplied with trackers and recorders to get Helle more evidence that'll bring a definite conviction. This second one doesn't seem sufficiently thought out or worked out. On the other hand, there are some scenes with blood and violence that seem authentic enough to be well made, and several of the visual aspects are far above the average in Danish films. It's always something.

Jul 24, 2025As if Salim wasn't enough, the actor gets a fight to the finish line by a completely new talent, Or by new talents. For Fenar Ahmad has a commendable ability to spot fresh faces and perhaps also looks into an undergrowth, which not many other Danish directors look into. Soheil Bavi is seen as the icy Muhdir, who is making his Danish debut here and is Danish, but trained as an actor in Iran. And also young Ahmad Ayman as Diddi must be mentioned as an interesting type who has something to offer in terms of acting. At the same time, he knows how to utilize the Copenhagen locations, so that they have an international format as backdrops. Rarely has our capital looked so grimly delicious. So much so that you often completely forget that it is Copenhagen. And that is meant to be positive. Fenar Ahmad has a thing for using Danish street rappers in his film, first Gilli, then Branco and this time Noah Carter. The action scenes were better filmed in the first movie. More lively than in this one. Do I want a 3? No, in my opinion there is nothing more to tell.

Jul 24, 2025Darkland The Return is even better than the first Darkland and I loved it. Just found it this week and searched everywhere for the second part in English and finally found it after a few days of searching. Dar is just an amazing actor. I think he's my new favorite! I'm American so Darkland was the first movie I'd ever seen him in but I now plan to watch all his movies. He made me really feel what he was supposed to be feeling without using any words. With that said, every actor in this movie was good to be honest. Soheil Bavi, Stine and Birgitte were good as well. I certainly hope there's going to be a 3rd part though, considering the ending.
