i loved tim ) : god, he deserved so much better. hawk, on the other hand, was a total dick. he wasn't just cruel to tim, he was unfair to lucy and to his own family as well. while the series is framed as a love story between hawk and tim, at times it felt like a horror story for lucy. she was trapped in a marriage built on secrecy and compromise. i'm glad she eventually chose herself and left. hawk's character was confusing, but consistently so. his fear, ambition, and denial shaped every decision he made. so much pain could have been avoided if he had followed his heart. yet his internalized fear esp in a political climate that punished men like him, made his choices tragically believable. his cowardice was infuriating, but it was also shaped by the world he lived in. tim's character, meanwhile, showed real growth. he began as idealistic and somewhat naive, but he matured without losing his moral conviction. i admired how steadfast he was in his beliefs and how unafraid he was to cha
