May 23, 2023First let me say that I loved the first 3 movies and Donnie Yen is one of my favorite Kung Fu actors... But this movie is just trash. I don't know how you can ruin a great franchise more completely then they did with this movie. Zero plot with just a bunch of racist propaganda thrown in to try and get a reaction. Fight scenes were decent but felt contrived. Historically inaccurate at every turn, I mean no one is looking for a documentary here but c'mon lets at least try a little. If you really like the first 3 movies do yourself a favor and stop there.

May 23, 2023First two movies were beautiful, funny, touching and wonderful cinema. Third movie was ok but lost some of the soul of the original 2. This final (4th) movie was even worse. So sad to see the series end on a stupid, leftist note. Very depressing.

May 23, 2023I acknowledge the fight scenes are well done. Those get an overall score of 7 - after averaging my scores of all of the fight sequences (and there are many). The filmmakers wrote a story about old illiberal bigotries, in which women and people of color were demeaned. That is so yesterday. These stereotypes have not been removed, however, they have simply been flipped and applied to men and white people, demeaning and vilifying them as women and people of color were demeaned previously. Is the new bigotry more righteous than the old? The filmmakers are betting that you believe in the new bigotry.
