The Funeral Home

The 1st half of the movie is very slow .I found it it's more enjoyable once the " ritual woman " showed up. I think the multiple scenes of the outhouse is unnecessary and nobody wants to see anyone using the restroom in any movie. There is one quick * scene at least what I caught and that was when mama's in the bathtub and you could see her breasts. Which is pretty mild for a horror movie. I didn't understand the ballet the ballet at the end of it. The ritual woman should have been closer to the beginning ,add some more scenes where she could see different entities... some of that was pretty lame as she was walking through the house. In my own opinion what would have made this a better movie is that everything that was going on ,the murders ,things moving about the house ,maybe make some things come up missing , and like where the stove was left on (it ends up being the girl was trying to kill her family by blowing the house up) and make lead it up to the end where when the girl goes outside into the yard the cops would pull up and arrest her then you find out that the entire time she's like schizophrenic or something and everything that was going on was actually her doing it......

I found The Funeral Home on Tubi and started watching it more out of curiosity. You can find the occasional gem as well as a lot of terrible movies. The Funeral Home is one of the better ones. It is well acted and the cinematography is excellent. So many films have terrible production values that can ruin a movie even if the acting and story is good. That is not the case here. The dialogue was a little uneven at times, but that could have been due to it being the English dubbed version. As horror movies go, this is one of the better ones..

Creepy backdrop and setting (a funeral home) in Argentina, and vengeful plot twists.

The story wasn't very well thought out. For a dark comedy/horror, the characters were too somber and depressing. The comedy bits didn't shine through. The horror bits weren't scary. I did see that the makers of this film were partially inspired by the movie Heredity (2018) because they copied some of the special light effects and that was one of my personal favorite horror film. They also used some horror tropes from other good films too. The sound effects were pretty good too. But the screenplay was just dog s__t and a big disappointment. Character development was poor. We never understand why the home is in partial disarray and dirty. I didn't care for the multiple scenes of the females peeing. Like WTH? The ending made little sense and the girl seemed like she never taken a ballet course ever. Anyway, this film is a pass as far as I am concern.
